Early Years

In theatre the rule of thumb is 'tits n' teeth' and as you can see here, in my very first show 'Aladdin', I adopted the practice rather well...... (22kb) Pity this pic is only black & white, the colours of this 'Aladdin' costume which were rather lush. (23kb) UK tour of 'Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat' 1979 starring Peter Barry as 'Joseph' who was fresh out of the West End hit musical 'A Chorus Line' (46kb) 'Joseph' again, this time at the 'Hoe Theatre' Plymouth, in this scene my character 'Benjamin' is suspected of stealing something. (37kb)
Cast performs 'One more angel in heaven' from 'Joseph' in Plymouth (43kb) 'Joseph' opening song......see what I mean, 'tits n' teeth' in abundance...... (45kb) Photo of all the actors/singers from the official theatre programme, now you can see why I was asked to play the youngest brother 'Benjamin'...... the guy at top centre is Tim Bentinck who now plays 'David' in the long running BBC Radio 4 soap 'The Archers', I recorded one of Tim's own songs in London a few months later called 'Who shall I be today' which you can now hear on this website after being tucked away on a shelf for over 25 years (amazingly the cassette somehow survived). (27kb) From the fab 'Elvis' scene in 'Joseph' at Plymouth. (35kb)
Inside theatre programme page. (27kb) Official programme from the 'Hoe Theatre' Plymouth for my second stint in 'Joseph', the theatre was demolished a few years later to make way for a brand new arts centre at a different location. (24kb) Inside programme page for the actor Christopher Hamill......sometimes my mum still calls me Christopher !! (67kb)
